Team Genius Squad is a movement and an aspiring brand created by 13-year-old Ava The STEM Princess® aka Ava The STEM Ambassador®. Our mission is to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) awareness, encourage individuals to believe in themselves, to identify their uniqueness, and pursue their goals. To achieve this, we design STEM inspired products (e.g. Experiment Lab Kits, Jewelry, Lip Gloss, Puzzles, Apparel); and develop fun educational videos for all ages. Our vision is to create global awareness regarding the importance of believing in oneself even when challenges arise, and how STEM concepts can play a significant role in math and reading literacy, personal skills exploration, and uncovering unique talents. We envision individuals actively engaging in identifying their inner genius and making their unique imprint on the world.
The creator of Team Genius Squad, 13-year-old Ava The STEM Princess® aka AVA THE S.T.E.M. AMBASSADOR™, experienced academic challenges for several years. These challenges negatively impacted AVA THE S.T.E.M. AMBASSADOR™ in her day-to-day life when interacting with educational instructors and peers. Specifically, being singled out as a poor performer teased for not understanding classroom material, and excluded from friendships and social groups because she did not fit the mold. Not knowing what her inner Genius was and the learning style that worked best for her caused AVA THE S.T.E.M. AMBASSADOR™ to experience bouts of discouragement and low self-esteem. These unfortunate events and her love for acting and hands-on activities were the catalysts that encouraged AVA THE S.T.E.M. AMBASSADOR™ to learn and entertain herself and others differently. Using visual aids (videos), writing mini scripts, and utilizing her creative gifts and talents (e.g., successfully executing STEM experiments, designing products, singing, making people smile), she identified her niche. From this, she released her first STEM experiment video via YouTube, June 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, entitled, “How To Make Hand Sanitizer At Home”. Due to the overwhelming response, AVA THE S.T.E.M. AMBASSADOR™ began a STEM video series that includes personalized skits and easy-to-follow experiments, and entrepreneurial tutorials.
The videos are AVA THE S.T.E.M. AMBASSADOR™ way of sharing with others that they can do anything with a little fun and the appropriate methods for their learning style. The development and production of these videos helped Ava improve her reading and math skills significantly and gave true meaning to her registered service mark, AVA THE S.T.E.M. AMBASSADOR™, and her taglines, “Believe In Yourself” and “Be The Genius You Are!”. To date, AVA THE S.T.E.M. AMBASSADOR™ has over 700,000 views and 110,000 subscribers/followers across all major social media platforms. She has experienced first-hand how through STEM activities, an individual can quickly learn impactful techniques that positively impact the world. She went from being teased for her different learning style to being viewed as a leader with excellent interpersonal skills that thinks outside the box. A true Genius is intuitive, creative, talented, and unique. We all have these attributes; they just need to be cultivated and nurtured to bring them to fruition. No matter how different we are, we are all unique and should always reach our goals. AVA THE S.T.E.M. AMBASSADOR™ goal in 2021 is to sow encouragement into 2 million households globally using her STEM videos and STEM-inspired products; Experiment Lab Kits, Lip Gloss, Jewelry, puzzles and apparel that reminds all to continue to think bigger and keep striving to make their mark on the world.
